Simone Policano

Bio & Expertise: A native New Yorker who graduated with honors from Hunter College High School before attending Yale, Simone combines local insight and broad perspective to guide students through the college application process. Her four years in Yale's Office of Undergraduate Admissions, including her role as Senior Interviewer, provided insider knowledge of what makes applications truly compelling.

Simone's distinctive approach draws from her background in theatre, creative writing, and screenwriting to help students discover and articulate their authentic narratives. She excels at identifying the stories that resonate with admissions officers while preserving each student's genuine voice—a skill developed through eight years as an essay coach with a premier NYC college prep company and a robust private college essay practice.

Over her career, Simone's students have gained admission to all eight Ivy League schools, Stanford, MIT, Duke, Vanderbilt, Tulane, the University of Michigan, and numerous other top-tier institutions. Students and parents alike value Simone's ability to transform the overwhelming application process into a manageable, purposeful journey. Whether helping students craft Common App personal statements, tackle supplemental essays, or prepare for alumni interviews, she creates an environment where students feel empowered to share their experiences authentically and confidently.

Simone also provides K-12 Humanities tutoring, specializing in English literature and composition. Her expertise in narrative development and clear communication helps students strengthen their analytical reading and writing skills, developing the confident voice that serves them well beyond college applications.
