Josh Sohn
Bio & Expertise: Born and raised in Brooklyn, Josh has been tutoring full-time since 2001 — and after more than two decades, his enthusiasm for helping students grow hasn't dimmed one bit. Over the years he's worked across a wide range of subjects, from Calculus and Physics to European History and Biology. Today, his focus is on test preparation for the SAT, ACT, GMAT, ISEE, APs, Regents, and more.
In 2018, Josh co-founded Hacking The Application & Admission Process (HTAAP), a boutique college consulting firm built on a simple belief: that high-quality, thoughtful college guidance shouldn't be out of reach for families who need it most.
Josh does his best work with students who are genuinely curious and eager to discover just how far they can go. He loves meeting students where they are — and then helping them surpass where they thought they could be.
When he's not tutoring, you'll find him playing ultimate, working on the next great American musical, or strumming away on his ukulele. (And in a former life, he was absolutely convinced he'd be the next Raymond Carver.)
