Jamie Mendelson
Bio & Expertise: Jamie Mendelsohn is the founder of PACES Consulting, where she partners with families to navigate school admissions and support students with diverse learning needs. She began her career at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Education and went on to earn advanced degrees in Special Education and General Education from Columbia University. With more than 20 years of experience as a teacher, instructional and special education inclusion coach, and parent in the New York City public school system, Jamie brings a deep, practical understanding of the educational landscape.
Recognizing how complex and often overwhelming the admissions and service planning process can be, especially for families of children with special needs, Jamie founded PACES Consulting to provide thoughtful, individualized guidance at every step. She works closely with families through key decision points, offering a highly supportive, hands-on approach that helps parents feel informed, confident, and empowered. From school selection and admissions strategy to navigating services and supports, Jamie is a steady partner throughout the entire journey.
In addition to her advisory work, Jamie connects families with trusted service providers and tutors, helping to build comprehensive, well-coordinated programs tailored to each child’s unique profile. Her approach is collaborative, clear, and deeply personalized—grounded in the belief that every child deserves an environment where they can thrive both academically and socially.
Outside of her professional work, Jamie enjoys spending time with her large extended family, especially with her husband and their three children.
