Jamie Kushner

Bio & Expertise:‍ ‍Born and bred on Long Island, Jamie Bassis is a New York State licensed chemistry teacher with over 25 years of experience helping students succeed in science.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Stony Brook University and a Master of Science in Education from Hofstra University.  Jamie is the founder of Jamie Bassis Tutoring, where she provides personalized chemistry instruction both in person throughout Suffolk County, New York, and virtually to students nationwide.  Jamie specializes in a wide range of chemistry courses at all levels, including General Chemistry, Regents Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, as well as College Chemistry I and II.

Jamie combines a strong content foundation with a supportive, personalized teaching approach to help learners build confidence, improve performance, and achieve their academic goals.  Whether preparing for a major exam or seeking long-term enrichment, students benefit from Jamie’s extensive classroom experience, and deep subject knowledge and passion for science education.
