James Rodrigues

Bio & Expertise:‍ ‍As a third culture kid who grew up between London and New York, James is well versed in tutoring students from all different kinds of backgrounds. He finished high school at Packer in Brooklyn Heights before going on to Columbia (twice!), which gives him a personal insight into the crazy world of New York’s private schools. He specializes in admissions essays, having worked with everyone from fifth graders to college graduates, and also tutors tests at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels (ACT/SAT/ISEE/SSAT). While his expertise is most extensive in English writing, composition, and reading comprehension, he also tutors other humanities (most prominently history) as well as Spanish and mathematics.

Outside of tutoring, James is a screenwriter and film buff, as well as an avid reader of literary fiction. He enjoys baking and browsing Wikipedia in his free time.

Fun Fact: James is a Jeopardy! Champion (all that Wikipedia time paid off!)
